Ingredients

1. 6 slices bread slices

3. 1 small carrot

4. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

5. 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes

6. 2 cheese cubes

7. salt as required

8. 1 medium onion

9. 3 tablespoon corn

10. 3 tablespoon pizza sauce

11. 1/2 teaspoon oregano

12. 4 cloves garlic

13. 4 tablespoon vegetable oil

Method

1. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. For one minute, sauté.

2. Add the finely diced carrot, pepper, and corn at this time. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

7. With tomato ketchup on the side, serve the bread pizza pockets and savour.

Norma's Fruity Snacks debut this week - Albionnewsonline

Tessa Porter (left) and her grandmother, Norma Porter.
Growing up in Albion and experiencing her grandmother’s all-natural recipes led Tessa Porter to develop a new candy product, Norma’s Handcrafted Fruity Snacks, that was launched earlier this week.
The snacks are named for Norma Porter, who was known for using nature and natural ingredients to assist clients in her business, Health Care Research & Massage, in Albion.
Tessa, now a food scientist, shares her grandmother’s love of using all natural ingredients, and she has wanted to create a candy product that was made with real fruit and honey for years.
“Grandma was always making natural and herbal remedies,” said Tessa. “She had great elderberry syrup, and asked me if I would be able to help her turn it into a gummy. It was the perfect opportunity to finally develop fruit snacks with honey inspired by her syrup.”
Complete story in the Sept. 28 Albion News/Boone Co. Tribune, and Petersburg Press, print and e-editions.

Best snacks to eat at general conference - Deseret News

Soon, Latter-day Saints will huddle around their televisions or radios and hear the familiar voice announcing the start to general conference. This semiannual event is like a spiritual Super Bowl for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — a marathon of a weekend that brings church members closer to God and Jesus Christ.

While Latter-day Saints spiritually feast, sometimes there is also actual feasting. Here are the top seven snacks that you should have ready for conference weekend.

Cinnamon rolls

It’s probably not a surprise to cover-to-cover readers of the Deseret News that I’m leading with cinnamon rolls. This sweet treat has been made by many members during general conference and is a delightful option.

Vegetables and hummus

While it’s not a secret that Latter-day Saints love sweet treats, eating sugar all weekend probably won’t help you sustain the energy needed to focus for 10 hours throughout the weekend (like I said: marathon of a weekend). Try some celery, cucumber and carrots with a side of hummus. Add a little olive oil, lemon juice and a sprinkle of sesame seeds to pre-packaged hummus to spruce it up a bit.

Popcorn (popping on the apricot tree)

“Popcorn popping on the apricot tree” is a phrase that’ll put a smile on many Latter-day Saints’ faces. Popcorn is a versatile snack that can accommodate a lot of different flavors. I recommend cajun seasoning (mostly because I think the spice is wonderful), but if your family prefers sweet to savory, pumpkin pie spice on plain or lightly buttered popcorn can be a festive option.

Green Jell-O

When you think of classic Latter-day Saint foods, green Jell-O is likely on that list. Try this kid-friendly food as a quick snack between sessions, or go all out and make a fluffy green Jell-O salad.

Family-friendly charcuterie board

I absolutely love looking at aesthetic charcuterie boards while knowing that never in a million years would I have adequate time to make the one of my dreams. But I could make this one — here’s how. Take apples and slice them up. Halve some grapes. Take any type of melon and use a cookie-cutter to get fun shapes of your choice. Cut up some mozzarella sticks and slice up some cheddar cheese. Serve with a handful of nuts mixed in with chocolate chips if you want it to be really fancy.

Ants on a log

Ants on a log is a classic snack. Cut up some celery into log shapes and then fill with a nut butter of your choice (if your familiar has nut allergies, try sun butter, but make sure to check for allergens on the label). Add raisins to be the “ants” on the log.

Sunbeam cupcakes

Cupcakes are often time consuming, but they don’t have to be. If you can’t make cupcakes from scratch, buy some already frosted cupcakes from the store that are frosted with vanilla frosting. Get yellow food coloring and a black cookie icing bag from the baking aisle. Remove the frosting from the cupcakes and color it yellow. Then fill up a sandwich bag half-way and cut the tip off to make a make-shift piping bag. Make little sun shapes on the cupcakes and draw a smily face using the black cookie icing bag.

Canadian Better-For-You Brand That Packs a Seedy Punch Launches in Over 400 Doors

VAUGHAN, ON, Sept. 20, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Something seriously seedy is making its way to the U.S. SeedWise, a Canadian brand with powerful snacks that pack a seedy punch, is rolling out in 425 retailers this month. Founded by Ozery Family Bakery, the brand is on a mission to help consumers snack smarter with its grain- and allergen-free granolas and clusters that are packed with the power of seeds— such as flax, sunflower, and pumpkin—and absolutely no fillers.

SeedWise is all about what to add to your diet instead of what to cut out of it. For SeedWise, that starts and ends with nutrient-filled seeds that are craveable and satisfyingly crunchy — two key requirements for a great snack. SeedWise's granolas and clusters are full of flavor, lasting energy, protein, healthy fats, fiber, and micronutrients while being low in sugar, grain-free, vegan, keto-certified, non-GMO Project verified, and certified gluten-free. By being baked in-house, SeedWise ensures its snacks are free from the top 9 allergens. Its lineup of delectable favorites are perfect as a cereal, tasty topping, or on-the-go snack safe for school or work including:

  • Super Seed Crunch Clusters loud enough for serious snackers thanks to its 5-6 grams of plant-based protein per serving. With only 1-2 grams of sugar, the clusters can be found in three flavors: Chocolate, Mixed Berries, and Sweet & Salty.
  • Super Seed Granola with 5-6 grams of plant-based protein per serving and only 3 grams of sugar that are snackably delicious, easy to digest, and full of healthy fats. Available in two flavors including: Chocolate Cherry and Lemon Blueberry.

"With over 25 years thriving in the bakery market, we felt it was time to take our expert baking skills and our love for seeds into the better for you snacking category," says Guy Ozery, CEO of SeedWise. "We're confident that our allergy-friendly products will give consumers that delicious, craveable and actually good for you snack they've been searching for in the market. We're looking forward to educating consumers on the benefits of seeds, why they are so powerful and how they can fit into their daily snacking routine."

SeedWise is a certified B-Corp brand that prioritizes being mindful towards the planet and overall community by creating positive environmental and social change. With seeds being a core ingredient in its products, consumers can feel better knowing that growing seeds requires 20-90x less water than tree nuts. The brand also aims to be carbon neutral by 2030. By planting seeds of change, SeedWise is making an impact one delicious bite at a time.

SeedWise can be found on Amazon or in store at retailers such as Wegman's, Lowes, HEB, and other natural and specialty stores. The granolas and clusters can be purchased in packs of 3 for $24.99-$29.99 or individually for $4.99-$8.99. Eat well and feel healthy with these craveable snacks packed with power!

Wouldn't you agree that evenings are all about gratifying our wicked gastronomic desires? We eat simple and healthy meals during the week, limiting our urges in the expectation of splurging and bingeing. Butter chicken, koftas, korma, and kebabs have us salivating just thinking about them! Mughlai cuisine has long been an integral aspect of Indian cuisine; its soul-satisfying flavours are enjoyed by nearly every Indian in the world. If you adore Mughlai cuisine as much as we do, we have included recipes for classic Mughlai snacks that we all enjoy. You can now enjoy Mughlai munchies in the comfort of your own home.

1. Chicken Tikka

The greatest Indian dish, chicken tikka, is popular all over the world! To make these famous tikkas, juicy and soft pieces of chicken are marinated in hot spices such as garam masala, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, and others before being grilled. This Mughlai meal is generally the go-to snack for all occasions.

2. Seekh Kabab

Mughlai cuisine is responsible for all of our delectable kebabs in Indian food. Seekh kebabs are one of the most popular kebabs, and people of all ages like them. Minced meat is marinated in aromatic seasonings before being wrapped around skewers and grilled to give it a luscious and flavorful texture.

3. Dahi Ke Kebab

These fluffy and tasty kebabs are a vegetarian favourite! Dahi ke kebabs are made using hanging curd, paneer, onion, ginger-garlic paste, and pepper. These kebabs have a crispy and crunchy exterior and melt on your tongue.

4. Paneer Tikka

Paneer tikka, a vegetarian version of chicken tikka, is a popular snack among paneer fans! Cubed paneer, onions, and capsicum are marinated in masalas before being grilled to impart smoky and aromatic flavours.

5. Malai Tikka

The malai tikka, another famous Mughlai tikka, is a creamy, masaledaar, and juicy appetiser like no other. People who find chicken tikka to be too hot would appreciate the creamy and mild flavours of malai tikka. This delightful chicken nibble combines the earthiness of ginger and garlic with yoghurt and cream.

6 Healthy Snacks Worth Picking Up At Costco - CNET

If you've been looking for healthy snack ideas you can easily add to your kids' lunchboxes or take on the go, you'll love the snacks on this list. Costco, the popular wholesale store and one-stop shop offers healthy food for every budget. You can find many of your favorite brands at Costco and some even have snack pack options for easy transportation.

If you're looking for some healthy snack ideas (other than fruits and veggies) you can pick up at Costco, the following list includes snacks that'll satisfy your appetite whether you have a salty or sweet tooth. Since Costco is known to carry different items at different locations, you'll have to check your local store to see what it has in stock.

Costco

Satisfy your chocolate cravings by picking up a bag of these healthy treats. You'll get four squares of individually wrapped chocolate, which is the perfect size to toss into your backpack, lunchbox or purse. At 180 calories a packet, it's also low in sugar and is a good choice if you're a fan of salty and sweet and don't mind coconut. I've tried a few of ChocXO's other flavors and one of my other favorites is the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups -- which would be an excellent selection for Costco to carry.

Costco

Adults and kids will both enjoy Whisps cheese crisps. They're available in a variety pack in parmesan and cheddar flavors at Costco. These 100-calorie snacks are made of pure cheese and are a good source of calcium and protein. Besides snacking, you can get creative and use Whisps cheese crisps to top your salads or soups. These come individually packed so it's easy to drop one in a lunch box or toss it into your purse or backpack.

Costco

If you're looking for a hearty protein bar (that's gluten free and keto-friendly), then you'll like the Cando Keto Krisp Almond Butter Bars. Costco offers them in a variety pack that consists of Almond Butter Chocolate Chip and Almond Butter flavors. Each bar has 10 grams of protein, is low carb and low in sugar. These even taste good refrigerated if you like an extra crunch in your protein bars. They're the right size to fit in a lunch box, gym bag or backpack and are a filling snack that keeps you full in between meals. Even though I didn't experience any gastrointestinal issues with these bars, it's important to note that if you're sensitive to dairy or artificial sugars, you may not respond well to the whey protein or erythritol sweetener ingredients.

Costco

For crackers with more flavor than a standard saltine, try Crunchmaster Multi-Grain crackers. They're made up of sesame, flax, quinoa, amaranth, millet and chia, and have 140 calories per serving. They're gluten-free and are light and crunchy, making them a good snack to pair with your favorite fruits and cheese or simply on their own. These don't come in individual packets so you will need to pack them in a snack-sized bag if you're planning on taking some to-go.

Costco

Protein is an important macronutrient you shouldn't neglect since it forms building blocks of your muscles. One easy way to add some extra protein into your diet is with this Protein Snack Box. The variety pack consists of Jack Link's and Lorissa's Kitchen beef jerky in various flavors and individually wrapped sizes. You can pick from Jack Links classic beef jerky or experiment with Lorissa's Korean barbeque beef strips or jalapeno beef sticks.

You can't go wrong with this variety pack to sneak in protein throughout the day. The protein servings range from 6 to 17 grams, depending on the jerky you opt for. These are all individually packaged, which makes them easier to toss into your kid's lunch boxes, glove compartment for a snack while on the road or backpack while commuting to work.

Costco

If you like fruit leather or dried fruit, then you'll like That's It Mini Fruit Bars. These dried fruit bars come in three different flavors: mango, blueberry and strawberry. The brand prides itself on the fact that it only makes products with real fruit and no added sugars. At 60 calories a bar, these make for a good snack to get your daily intake of fruit and they also have 2 to 3 grams of fiber per serving. They're gluten-free, vegan and allergen-free, making them a safe snack for kids to take to school.

These are also individually packed and small enough to fit into a lunch box, gym bag or your office desk for a quick pick-me-up.
