Vadodara: Fire broke out in a unit making fried snacks in Khodiyarnagar area on Saturday morning. The reason behind the incident was not known immediately.
The unit located on New VIP Road in Khodiyarnagar makes fried snacks from wheat and rice flour and it is popularly called ‘bhungra’ and ‘papdi’.
The unit caught fire around 9am on Saturday. Fire tenders rushed to the site on being informed about it. A large quantity of edible oil and fried snacks had been stored in the unit because of which the fire spread fast and it became difficult for fire tenders to control it, said officials.
City police and Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL) were informed about the incident.
