Sun-Maid expands line of candy-inspired raisin snacks - Food Business News

FRESNO, CALIF. — Sun-Maid Growers of California is expanding its lineup of flavored raisins with new tropical punch and peach varieties. The products join a range of sour raisin snacks, available in blue raspberry, strawberry, mixed berry and watermelon flavors.

Made with golden raisins, the snacks contain no added sugar or artificial ingredients and were designed as a better-for-you option that tastes like candy, according to the company. The products are Non-GMO Project verified and gluten-free.

“Traditionally, fruit snacks have been loaded with added sugars, corn syrup and artificial ingredients, and it is time real fruit takes center stage,” said Harry Overly, president and chief executive officer. “Our Fruity Raisin Snacks are simply real whole fruit that tastes like a candy, not a gummy fruity snack posing as real fruit. By adding in these delicious new flavors, we're delighted to offer fans the choice between a sourer punch or sweeter fruity taste — just in time for summer.”

Sun-Maid Fruity Raisin Snacks are available online at Amazon.com and at Albertsons and Kroger stores for a suggested retail price of $3.29.
