Michael Mosley has named the two foods he 'always' keeps in stock for healthy snacking.
As the creator of the Fast 800 diet and author of Just One Thing, the presenter is full of health and diet advice. He's previously named the food that's best for blasting belly fat and what to eat to become stronger.
The health guru was recently asked by the Sunday Times about the food he 'really' eats every day. Naturally, his go-to snacks are good for your gut and full of 'healthy fat'.
Michael told the publication: "I make a point of always keeping a variety of nuts and seeds in stock, including almonds, cashews, Brazil nuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pine nuts, chia and sesame seeds. I like to roast them myself, to enhance the flavour.
"Nuts are rich in fibre to feed your microbiome and are an excellent source of healthy natural fat. I love them with porridge, and they make an excellent snack."
The author has previously gone into detail about why nuts are a good choice on his BBC podcast. Michael urged people to eat them on the programme: "Nuts often get bad press because they are high in fat and cause life-threatening allergies."
However, he went on to explain the multitude of benefits they deliver. He said: "But if like me you‘re able to eat nuts, this is definitely one thing you should start doing today. Eating nuts may reduce your risk of a whole range of diseases, including cancer, diabetes and heart disease."
The NHS advice says nuts should be eaten with limits: "Nuts are high in fibre, and unsalted nuts make a good snack. But they do still contain high levels of fat, so eat them in moderation."
Other health experts named in the article include names you may recognise. Joe Wick - also known as the Body Coach - says he eats jasmine rice and pre-cooked wholewheat noodles on a daily basis while butter beans are a staple for Ella Mills of Deliciously Ella.
